Resonator Guitars: Good and affordable?
Ideally, I’d go straight to a National Tricone.
But I don’t have that kind of $,
So I’m looking for a good (duh) affordable resonator (metal body only) guitar (single or tri) – Suggestions please!
(wanting to play slide and blues)

I had one during the 70′s. Not cheap these days.. I have a friend, Ron Phillips who actually makes and sells them to some rather famous recording artists. Not sure what he’s doing now,but look up Ron Phillips and resonator guitars. Years ago, I met a guy who had two metal National’s, both tri cones.. He had them in an old apt. and wanted 250.00 a piece and were in great shape.. Like the nice guy, I told him he could get much more.. He eventually sold them for over 700.00 a piece.. I could have made out,but took the high road.. I did eventually get a 000-18 Martin for 300.00, had some work done to it and sold it for 3x more than I paid.. Good luck on your search.. but do check out Phillips.
